LAST MINUTE BRANSON GETAWAY

Day 1: It isn't very often that we get to make a quick getaway without Jason having to layoff from work, so you can bet we took advantage of it!!!!  Branson was our destination of choice, so we quickly packed our Acadia and headed outta town!!! Mark July 13-15, 2014 down in the record books!!!

One of the things that create excitement in the lives of our boys is staying at a HOTEL and to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if that ended up being their favorite moment of the whole trip. LOL!  We don't get out much! ;)  Anyway, on our way there I searched online and found a great deal on a hotel...the pictures looked good so we put on a brave face, closed our eyes and hoped for the best as we hit the "book room" button only moments before we arrived.

As it turned out our great deal was just that! The hotel was very nice and we were very pleased. In my opinion nice hotels are hard to come by in Branson. Go priceline.com!!!!  The height of the hotel caught Ethan's attention and he wanted to be on the top floor, so he didn't hesitate to ask. After sweet talking the hotel girl she changed our room number and put us on the 7th floor!! Ethan and Collin were stoked!!!

Without hesitation the boys rushed through the door, overlooking everything, and headed straight for the window to look out...it was fun seeing the pure joy on their faces.

FYI...the only way I am ever in any pictures is if I take selfies with my boys. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do to be seen. :)  I want them to look back and know I was there too. :)

After dropping off our stuff at the hotel we headed to Springfield, MO to visit Bass Pro. The boys enjoyed checking out the turtles and I had fun snapping more pictures.

Collin agreed, after a lot of coaxing, to take one picture next to the big scary bear...although he was not happy about the situation.
After we left Bass Pro we made our way to "Lamberts" Home of the Throwed Rolls, which is one of our favorite places to eat with the kids.  Ethan has such a great time catching the rolls for all of us. :) After dinner we headed back to the hotel to relax before our big float trip the next day with Grandpa Dale and Grandma Darla!!!

When there is nothing on the hotel t.v. you pull out the car dvd player and enjoy a movie!
Day 2: Upon waking we ate an early breakfast at the hotel then headed to Galena, MO to float the James River with the grandparents!  I can't tell you how much we enjoyed the relaxation and the beauty...can't wait to go back again.  Ethan, Jason, and I floated in our own kayaks, and Collin hitched a ride on the front of mine pretty much the whole time. :) Dale, Darla, and their dog Buster paddled the jon boat carrying all our supplies and lunch.

Be forewarned, I took so many pictures that it was hard to pick just my favorites to share, so I didn't. LOL!

Collin LOVED looking for shells...each one was just as exciting as the next. :)

Collin showing Ethan all his shells that he couldn't touch!

After the float trip we went back to the hotel to get cleaned up so we could play miniature golf and ride go-carts.

Enjoying ice cream shakes while waiting for grandpa and grandma to arrive to play mini golf and ride go-carts

My silly boy!

Not a fan of driving go-carts by himself anymore...poor boy gets embarrassed so easily. :(  Dad made him do it, so he wasn't very happy during this moment in time.

Collin on the other hand was in a great mood about riding go-carts!

Day 3: After our hotel breakfast we went school shopping at the Branson Outlet Mall.  They had many of our favorite stores, therefore too much money was spent.  ***sigh*** Our boys are not into fashion or clothes shopping, so Collin kept asking to go home and Ethan kept telling us he had enough clothes.  Well sorry boys you are going to attempt to look somewhat stylish at school!!! Boys...gotta love em'!!!

Before heading home we ate at Steak 'n Shake...another one of our favorite places to eat!!! All in all this fast lil' getaway was a success!!! Wish we could get away from home more often...it does our family good!!!
